Just reviewed a fascinating article here from the weekly newsletter from Brain Picking — basically laying out the research showing the fundamental difference between a fixed and a growth oriented mindset. I’m sure you have come across some of these finding before in various popular forums: as an example, reinforcing “good effort” tends to reinforce a growth mindset and lead to taking on new challenges, whereas reinforcing “being correct” tends to lead to a fixed mindset and a reluctance to be seen to “fail” by taking on a new challenge.
